Briefly about our founders

Samuel and Rehema are married. They met at a church where Samuel served as an Assistant to the senior Pastor. The more they got acquainted with each other, the more they realized their shared passion to serve our Lord Jesus Christ. It is this premise that brought them together and inspired them to start African Village Initiative for Discipleship with a mission to teach and equip Christians in underprivileged communities.

Samuel Kajenza (Director, Avid Uganda)

Samuel is a teacher of the word at heart and his passion is to motivate Christians to stand firm in Christ. ”It is crucial to know how to live in this world after accepting Christ as our personal Lord and savior.” he emphasizes.

Samuel has worked in ministry for quite some time. He attended Glad tidings Bible School, Seguku Trumpet Center and Jaffray Center for Global Initiatives.

As a Director at Avid Uganda, he applies his diverse experience, knowledge and skills to enable us to fulfill our purpose. He offers strategic leadership, oversees all ministry programs and manages the team to achieve the ministry mission and objectives.

Rehemah Nanyonga, (Head of Children’s department)

Rehemah finds joy in supporting children to step into their God-given gifts and nurturing them into individuals of meaning and impact through creative means of learning. She started working with children during her primary seven vacation where she would help them with their homework, a program that later grew into a nursery school that we are currently upgrading to primary school.

As the head of the Children’s department at Avid Uganda, Rehemah teaches children, trains teachers and leads the school expansion program to maximize impact by reaching every child in every village in Uganda.
