AVID COMMUNITY INITIATIVE

Avid Community Initiative is a program that is designed to teach and equip members of Kayunga region. Many of these members are fellow Christians who come to learn new skills and also fellowship on the Altar. Our community initiative includes three programs that is, Avid Christian School for children aged 3 to 17 years, Avid Christian  Vocational institute, a vocational skills development program for members aged 15 to 45 and Avid Christian Fellowship which organizes the community  prayer altar and general weekly services for all members of Kayunga region.

Avid Christian School

Avid Christian School is anticipated to educate children aged 3 to 17 years from Kayunga region. Currently, we are combining efforts and mobilizing resources to construct a primary school where we will be able to reach and impact about 500 children annually including the children from our restoration center; Home Sweet Home.

To prepare the young generation for the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, we enroll  children at risk in villages aged 3 to 17 years of age for Nursery and Primary education where they learn literacy, mathematics among other subjects as guided by the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports. At Avid Christian School, Discipleship is mandatory to guarantee lifelong Disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Avid Vocational Institute

Avid Christian Vocational institute is a vocational skills development program for members aged 15 to 45.

One of the most pressing needs for Christians in villages is financial empowerment due to the high rates of poverty. At Avid Uganda, we are concerned and therefore proactive in addressing this challenge in order to fulfill our objective of building sustainable livelihoods among fellow Christians in villages.

Our vocational skills development program is designed according to the personalized needs of our members. These skills range from Conservation agriculture, tailoring, brick making, building, catering, hair styling and plaiting, reusable pads making, nursery school teaching, carpentry, to photo editing on a computer. They are diverse in nature so that we don’t leave anyone behind during the academic year.  And the main purpose of the vocational skills development is to earn a decent income to enable Christians to take care of themselves and their families with the basic requirements of life. Activities under our vocational institute include the following;

Fashion and design

Reusable pads making

Media training

Farming
