The Avid Mobile Volunteers Club is a group of individuals who support the local administration of Avid Country Lodge from anywhere, at anytime. They dedicate at least one hour a week to help in a specific role in administration and help to invite new members into the club.
We have four major administrative roles divided into two, (on site and off site)
1. On site
There are two on site administrative roles;
School
The school is divided into two parts.
- Teen moms vocational school where the teen moms learn hands on practical skills in sewing and tailoring for now. More activities will be implemented as we develop capacity to monitor, evaluate, sustain and scale them.
- Kindergarten for the children of the teen moms is a daycare/ babysitting program where the teen moms bring their children to access early childhood development.
Country home
The Avid country home is a residential facility for our guests from who come from different parts of the world to volunteer, intern, research, engage in cultural exchange programs and so much more. It is part of our sustainability program where by our guests pay an affordable amount that we use in the day to day running of the school.
2. Off site
There are two off site administrative roles;
Partnership
Partnerships building among other non profits, institutions like schools, Universities among others. This administrative role refers to cultural exchange programs, program partnerships, internship, research opportunities for like minded individuals and institutions specializing in african studies, women’s studies, rural development, special needs education, teenage parenthood, social work, psychology, counselling among others.
Fundraising
This is an essential element which requires special intervention to enable the effective administration of the various school activities. We divided it into two categories. These include;
- Financial;
Financial fundraising is dedicated to organizing of events focused on raising financial resources, online crowd funding, monthly subscription donations, writing of grants and proposals. - In-kind contributions;
This is resource-raising in material supplies for example, books, clothes, shoes, computers, papers, pens and pencils, among others.>
